Surgery

Surgery is a significant step towards better health, and we are dedicated to ensuring our clients feel informed, confident, and fully supported throughout the process.

Surgical procedures may be necessary for a variety of reasons, including diagnostic, preventive, reconstructive, or elective purposes. Each procedure carries its own set of benefits and risks, and understanding these is crucial for making informed decisions.

Our approach involves guiding clients through the entire surgical journey, from preparation to recovery, ensuring they are comfortable, well-prepared, and aware of what to expect.

We also prioritize cultural sensitivity, respect for privacy, and clear communication, ensuring that our clients’ needs and concerns are addressed with compassion and professionalism.

A da Vinci hysterectomy is a robot-assisted, minimally invasive procedure used to remove a woman’s uterus. The procedure uses unique technology known as the da Vinci Surgical System that offers patients a minimally invasive treatment option for complex hysterectomies.

In a vNOTES procedure, surgeons use specialized instruments inserted through the vagina instead of making incisions in the abdomen. One of the significant benefits of vNOTES is minimal scarring. As the procedure does not require any incisions, there are no scars on the abdomen.

A hysteroscopy is a procedure used to examine the inside of the womb (uterus). It’s carried out using a hysteroscope, which is a narrow telescope with a light and camera at the end. Images are sent to a monitor so Dr. Rexroth can see inside your womb.

The doctor may recommend a hysteroscopy to diagnose and treat conditions related to your reproductive organs, such as infertility, uterine fibroids, and more.

In TVT surgery, a mesh tape is placed under your urethra like a sling or hammock to keep it in its normal position. The tape is inserted through tiny incisions in your abdomen and vaginal wall. No sutures are required to hold the tape in place.

The sling is like a hammock that lifts and supports your urethra and the neck of your bladder (where your bladder connects to your urethra) to help prevent leaks. Lifestyle changes like losing weight and doing Kegel exercises or pelvic floor therapy may help if you have a mild case of urinary stress incontinence

A cystoscopy is a procedure that allows Dr. Rexroth to examine the inside of the bladder and urethra using a thin, tube-like instrument called a cystoscope. The cystoscope is equipped with a lens and a light, and may also have a tool to remove tissue samples for examination under a microscope.

A laparoscopic salpingectomy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure to remove one or both fallopian tubes using a laparoscope, a thin tube with a camera and light on the end. Salpingectomy is a common procedure to remove one or both fallopian tubes in women.

Doctor may suggest fallopian tube removal for a variety of reasons. This may include infection, ectopic pregnancy, or to lessen your ovarian cancer risk. Some people may also choose salpingectomy as a permanent form of birth control.

A salpingo-oophorectomy is the removal of one (unilateral) or both (bilateral) of your ovaries and fallopian tubes. Laparoscopic surgery is a minimally invasive surgery technique that only uses a few small incisions on your lower abdomen.

Anterior vaginal wall repair, also known as anterior colporrhaphy, is a surgical procedure that can treat vaginal prolapse and urinary incontinence in women. Anterior repair is used to tighten the front (anterior) wall of the vagina. It is used when the bladder drops out of its normal position and bulges into the front of the vagina, causing the front wall of the vagina to sag. This condition is known as anterior wall prolapse, cystocele or dropped bladder.

Posterior colporrhaphy, also known as posterior repair or rectocele repair, is a minimally invasive surgical procedure performed to correct a rectocele, which is a bulging of the rectum into the vagina due to weakened pelvic floor muscles and supporting tissues.

A Bulkamid bladder injection is a minimally invasive procedure that involves injecting a water-based gel into the urethra to treat stress urinary incontinence (SUI) in women. Bulkamid is a hydrogel made of 97.5% water and 2.5% polyacrylamide that acts as a bulking agent to increase tissue volume in the urethra. The gel helps restore the urethra’s natural closing action and prevent urine leakage during normal activities.

Sacral modulation, also known as sacral neuromodulation (SNM) or sacral nerve stimulation (SNS), is a minimally invasive procedure that treats bladder and bowel problems by implanting a device that sends electrical impulses to the sacral nerve.

The sacral nerves control the muscles of the bladder, as well as the pelvic floor muscles and the urinary and digestive systems. The device, called a pulse generator, is implanted in the lower back or buttock and attached to a lead wire with an electrode tip that’s anchored near the sacral nerve.

The electrical impulses modulate the neural pathways that control bladder and bowel function, which can help with conditions such as: Urinary incontinence, Fecal incontinence, Urgency, Frequency, Retention, and Overactive bladder.

Endometrial ablation is a procedure to remove a thin layer of tissue (endometrium) that lines the uterus. It is done to stop or reduce heavy menstrual bleeding. It might take a few months to see the final results. But endometrial ablation often reduces the amount of blood lost during periods.
